Since its creation by Decree No. 82/455 of September 20, 1982, the commune of Tokombéré has seen the passage of several communal executive teams.

It has had at its head a succession of Mayors since its creation as follows successively:

First Mayor: NAME OF MAYOR 1996: First mayor elected to head the municipality

Second Mayor, KARI DEGUER, from 1996 to 2013.

He is in fact the first Mayor democratically elected by the local populations. He carried out 03 mandates namely from 2002 to 2007 and from 2007 to 2013. He was the dean of the Mayors of Cameroon.

Third Mayor, SM BOUKAR TIKIRE, from 2013 to date.

From 2013 to 2020, he served his first term. During the 2020 elections, the populations once again renewed their confidence in him. Recall that the State had postponed the elections which were to be held in 2018 in 2020. He succeeded KARI DEGUER, recalled by death, since KARI BOUKAR was his first Deputy.

All these municipal magistrates came from the municipal elections. This is a sign that testifies to local democracy and the dynamism of its people to decide on the choice of their leader.

Recall that before its creation as an entity in its own right with an area of ​​552 km2, the territory of Tokombéré was included in the commune of Mora, which today is its neighbor on the north side with which relations are without clouds.

After its creation in 1982, the SP mayor Mr. AYIDJO Sambo, was appointed as municipal administrator of the new Town Hall of Tokombéré.
